'72 Chevy 3/4 ton 6.2 conversion
I'm making plans to put my old Custom/20 flatbed back on the road that has a 4 speed manual trans and a Dana 60 rear. I'm considering picking up one of the 6.2L mechanical military take-out engines that are out there to replace the 350 and I was wondering if anyone who's tried something like this could tell me what I'd need to do this & if I'd be better off with a donor vehicle that has a running 6.2L instead... /// tim

Hi I bought a 1970 Chevy that a guy was trying to convert over from a 350 gas to a 6.2L diesel. He did not have much experence with this kind of project, so I picked it up. Anyway the engine was out of a 1984 K5 Blazer, and he tryed to use the engine frame mounts from the Blazer, this put the engine to low. I put the frame mounts from the 350 back in, this didn't work ether. The exhaust manifolds hit the mounts, so I had to get the frame mounts from a Big Block I used the engine pads from a 350 gas and this worked out good, hope this helps. John
