I have a 93 k3500 with a blown 6.5 I also have a 6.2 out of a 86 suburban that runs good. What do I need to do to replace the 6.5 with the 6.2?

A bit more info. Standard to auto? Are you planning to put the turbo onto the 6.2? Also, what are you doing with the IP out of the 93?

keeping the 93 auto, do not really want the turbo (but what about exhaust ) The 93 6.5 has a mechanical pump how is it different than the 86 6.2? Don't think I'll need it unless it's the same to keep as a spaire.
Exhaust will be different. Can't tell you for sure about if the tranny will bolt straight up or not. The 93 fuel pump pushes more fuel. Being 93 with no computers, it should be basically a drop in from the 6.5 to the 6.2 besides the manifold swap.

I'm pretty sure it will bolt up to tranny ok but how about engine speed sensor and tps to make the tranny shift? oil cooler lines? fuel lines? think I can just use the exhaust manifolds off the 6.2? Just trying to make this go as smooth as possible.
Not too bad. I did not want to use the turbo on the 6.2 so all I had to do is use exhaust manifolds fron a 93 that had a 6.2. Other than that I put on a new water pump and had to use the timing cover off the 6.5 that came out of the truck. Everything else swapped right over.
nice. I had forgotten about you.Glad to hear it went well. Any reason why you don't want to set up the turbo? You are looking at 80-100 more torque and 40ish ponies.

The 86 6.2L will drop right into your 93. However, the injector fuel lines won't fit. Your choice of ways to get around this is to obtain a set of mid-80's injector fuel lines or swap cylinder heads. The flatter injector angle used on the 6.2 cyl heads makes it very difficult to re-install the factory 6.5 turbo.
Personally, I'd keep the turbo and swap heads.... Use new head bolts and new Fel-Pro head gaskets.
