Default Anybody Know What A Cummins 5.9L Weighs?

    Hello All-

Does anyone know how much a Cummins 5.9L weighs? I saw a swap done in a Chevy pick-up where he pulled the 6.5L and put in the 5.9L. The article said he would be getting new leaf springs in the future to compensate but they never said how much more it actually weighed.

Do a search for "moedog cummins" - he swapped to a Cummins recently and had Autoworld do the work.

I asked Ken from Auto World about it while Moedog's truck was being done, and he said the there was only about 150 lbs difference and not too big of an issue.

According to the company that shipped my 6.5, a long block with timing cover, IP, lines, and injectors weighed in at 685, and that was with the wood crate it was strapped to. That is less than 700 lbs...
