I have a 2003 CC 2500HD D/A it has the orginal 105 amp alt. Can a higher output alt be installed with out mods. Like the 145 amp OEM type?

Sure, you can install a variety of OEM & aftermarket alts. You can also install a second alternator, which might be a less expensive option...
