Thumbs up 3,750 Lb Load Rating 16" Wheel & Tire Combo

FYI, looking for 3,750 lb load rating in 16"? I found that ALCOA's part # MT167041 16"x7" forged wheel (8 lug GM) combined w/BFG's 285/75/16 AT T/A KO "E" have a max load rating of 3.750 lb's. While this is a 33" tire and rim is .50" narrower than recommended it would work nicely w/3.73 or 4.10 gear sets and minor fitting in frt/wheel well.

    Great post! Thanks, DBO.

BFG recently increased the sizes/ratings available in the A/T-KO. Just saw that on their website (thanks DBO for making me look). I like the 285/75/16D, and have run them for years on my 2001. The rating on the "old" tires is 3305#, and was the only rating available for that size. Better weight rating than the OEM, but it is still an 8 ply tire (D rating). I haven't had any problems with the Bridgestones I've been using, but the ply rating has always bugged me, in spite of the actual # rating. Concern was while hauling HEAVY 5'ers and HEAVY bed loads. The higher ply rating also offers a more broad PSI flexibility.

Years ago, a couple bad experiences with BFG tires ran me away from them. Perhaps I need to have another look....
