Hey, just wondering if anyone has had experience with swapping a solid axle in place of an independent front end? I am really considering doing this for a few different reasons and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Off Road Unlimited makes the kits, both for the 90's C/K and current GM trucks.
I've seen a number of reviews in in various magazines.

Here's a link to Diesel Power Mag showing a 2006 DMax with a solid conversion. I think the article said the source for the conversion was Off Road Unlimited. I believe you will have to find your own Dana 60/44 for the conversion. It will have to be a driver side diff like on some of the older Fords.

94 2500 4x4 Suburban (Stock).......but not for long.=)
Awesome. The kit seems really straight forward, the list of additional needs is pretty big. What is a non-Autotrac transfer case? Also, why couldn't I find an older Suburban or P/U 4X4 with leafs and swap the parts in using a Ford Dana 60. I would use the Ford Dana 60 because of the left hand side input. Just running thoughts around in my head. Either way, the conversion would be done by me and my buddy. Thanks again and any more ideas or sources please tell me!
