Question LWB chassis Q's: crewcab versus regular cab

    Ladies and gents..

    Hello and g'day to ya!

Technical question here...I am trying to get creative and find out how to go about crewcabbing an M1008 CUCV LWB pickup. Specifically, on the '82-89 model chassis, what are the dimensional and structural changes that must be made to drop a crewcab onto a non-crew LWB frame? Oh, and I DO want to keep the longbed as originally installed, as well. No shorty conversion or anything..

Thanks for any ideas! Adam Lee

Question crewcab and standard cab frame diffs?

no truckers out there with experience or knowledge of frame considerations or mods/extensions to plant a crewcab on a standard frame?

    Ok, I'll take a stab.

Are you talking about lengthening the frame to accomplish this? If you're going to be doing something like that, then it won't be much more effort to fab up the required body mounts for the crewcab.

All I can say is that is going to be one wicked long driveshaft!

Best to start taking measurements of your vehicle and a crewcab to plan out your attack. I haven't heard of anyone on here doing such a conversion, but that certainly doesn't mean that it cannot be done.
