I am interested in converting my dually to single rear wheels. I pull a 31 ft camper only 6-7 times per year, and would like to have a smoother daily drive. What would be involved in such a conversion?

I'm 99% sure that the only way to do it is to find a SRW axle. It either has to have the same spring perch spacing or you'll have to cut & weld the spring perches in the right places.

Too bad we didn't live closer, I would be up for a swap.
Swapping is a great idea....The moving of the spring perches is something I didn't consider, though. I'll have to look into that..
I think aftermarket fender flares will work once I remove the dually fenders.
Now on to the front hub/spindle assembly; do they need to be swapped out as well or are there spacers that can be removed?

I have actually seen a dually with one tire removed; it just doesn't look right!
I may get back with you concerning the swap idea...from San Antonio, it looks about 3hrs halfway.
Once I've found out for sure about the springs and fender flares then I'll be actively looking for swaps (front and rear).
Thanks for the help, everyone.

you need to change the hubs on the front axle to SRW hubs, the spindles are the exact same. you may need to put different rotors on the front, i dont remember if the drw trucks use the same PN.
for the rear the same thing applies. the hubs need to be changed out for SRW hubs, and the spindles should be the same as well. you will need to change the whole drum brake assembly over to the SRW setup, or go to disc breaks.
you could just get a different set of rims with the correct offset to look right on the truck and swap the dually rims on when you pull. you can run a dually spacer on the axles so you dont have to have such an extreme offset.
