    Default Need lift / tortion bar advise...

    Howdy all...

    Just bought this new PU and am looking for advise regarding the suspension. I think someone has cranked the TBs. The ride is VERY bouncy on the pot-hole roads and there are loose parts in the front end. I've had several TB vehicles and can tell by looking at this one, someone has cranked em. The previous owner gave me a replacement pitman arm and idler arm. I haven't had it checked yet, but plan to repair, reset it to factory height, and have it aligned PDQ.

    My questions are;
    Does anyone know what the factory ride hight should be and where it's measured from?
    What 2" lift kit is recommended for the smoothest ride on the fire roads if I decide to lift it properly. I've been reading about Rancho 9000s vs. Bilsteins and welcome any opinions.

    I want a nice ride on the rough roads. I'm older and perhaps wiser now so lift is not as important as comfort and practicality

    Thanks!

    Default Bar ?

    Stock suspension can be left intact by using fender cut outs by Bushwacker and running up to 35" tires.

    Pros: sits higher w/cushy feel in suspension and gives a higher ratio final drive, however if gears are too high then engine will be off it's rpm peak tq.

    Cons: need larger wheels/tires and perhaps lower ratio ring/pinion then there is the higher stance and wider tires which = lots of resistance at speed.

    VSSB can be hacked for ratio/tire change.

    Thanks for that DBO. The TBs were sitting at about 1/2 way. I've adjusted them to sag 2" from tdc lol. You know what I mean. It's a little too mushy now. Will crank em up some more. The rear is very bouncy. Do airbags tend to make it this way?
