    Question fan to rad clearance.

I had my truck fixed after the ACCIDENT ( see members forum) and I notice that there is alot of space between the new (9blade composite factory GM replacement ? ) fan and the radiator, about 3 inches. I don't think my old fan ( stock) was this far away. Anyone here can give me the mesurements of there's. I like to get it a little closure, but don't know what options I have. Thanks

The fan/radiator clearance isn't that critical (unless it's too close). More important, is the fan in relation to the shroud. About zero to 1/4 (less than an inch) of the fan blade edges should be behind the rear edge of the shroud, and they should all be the same (fan blades all true). The fan should not be recessed into the shroud. 3" sounds normal, and could be more. Some V6 engines have the fan more than 8" from the radiator, but the fan/shroud relation is the same.
