Default 96 suburban f&r ac diff temp same setting

It appears I have an issue with the ac in my 96 Suburban. I can have both units set for the same temp and the dash unit is 12 to 15 degs warmer. The rear air temp will get down close to 40* but the dash unit will only drop the temp to about 54-53*. Any ideas ? I'm thinking it is the dash temp control switch.

    Thanks

I don't know if this is posable on these trucks but I have seen were a pencil or pen has fallin down the defroster duct and stopped the temp control door from fully closing, don't know if you can even check this without pulling the whole assembly out. Just a thought
    Good luck
