Default John Deere 4045 diesel transmission

Hey i'm new to this site, and i have a John Deere 4045 series, 4 cylinder diesel engine i am trying to put it into a late 90's Ford F-150 and i am looking for an automatic Transmission. any body have any ideas on how to hook one up? it has an SAE 3 bell housing on it. i have found a place that makes an adapter for an SAE 3 bell housing to a ford C-6 transmission, any ideas if this will hold up? any ideas on another tranny

Default the JD is a bit heavy but will run forever if taken care of

the C6 will work but it needs a vacume sorce to shift, the Chrysler A727 is very good and will need no vacume to work, also GM's 700r4 with the heavy duty kit gives you a 4 speed but will need vacume. You can get Alternator with vacume pumps built in.
Our first SAE to auto adpter was a John Deere 4239T ( old style 4045) to a C6
then to a 400 gm turbo, that was 33 years ago, now we can due ford,GM,Chrysler,Jeep, some Toyota, and have been playing with landrover

Hey Sbi I am doing a 4045t with an SAE4 to my wrangler. I am looking into all transmissions that are strong for crawling and towing.
