I Have all necessary parts to get my S code all "F'd up". When changing ECM should the batteries be disconnected or just plug and play?

The only real issue to worry about is static discharge. Make sure you ground yourself before handling the PCM and all should be fine. I've swapped them many times without disconnecting the batteries. Including swapping chips on the OBD1 PCM's.
Thanks RJ I will make sure I am grounded when I make the switch.
