Default High oil pressure in morning

    Hello
I have a 2003 Duramax upgrades are a 4" exhaust edge programmer for the last few months when I start it up in the morning the oil pressure is at about 120 and the lifters are clattering. After it warms it goes back to around 60. Happens even after oil change. Any ideas?

Not sure about 120psi reading - OEM gauges are notoriously innacurate - but high oil pressure is good, and normal at cold startup.

As for 'lifters clattering' its probably normal diesel rattle if it subsides once the engine is warmed up.

Welcome aboard...! Relax its probably all normal stuff...read on...

    Welcome to the board!

How long have you owned this truck? If you're new to diesel, it may be that what you're hearing is normal. The sounds a diesel makes can change throughout the year as the temperature changes and the available fuel switches from summer fuel to winter fuel.
