4L80E Temp Prob

Can a gauge with a temp prob be installed on this tranny and if so where my manual shows none or mention of.

The 2WD oil pan for the 4L80-E will fit the 4WD trucks, and the 2WD version comes with a drain plug. Some make/buy a custom drain plug to accept a thermocouple. Measuring ATF temperature in the pan is one measure of transmission temperature.

A few others insert a "T" in the hot cooling line to use for a thermocouple. I like the pan location.... We had one so equipped for 250,000+ miles.
