    Default New from TN

Hey all, new member here from Tennessee. I see there's a great wealth of knowledge here so of course I decided to join up!

Long story short - I'm active duty Army, married with a kid, metal musician, and last but not least, a gearhead of sorts. I have 8 years mechanic experience prior to the Army, so turning wrenches is nothing new to me.

My recent acquisition has rekindled my love for turning wrenches also. It's my first 4x4 AND my first diesel.

    1986 M1009 CUCV

58k miles, 6.2L Detroit diesel, matte black/Rhino finish. The whole interior is Rhino'd as well.

I've had it for a few weeks and I love it! Just like all other CUCVs, it needs a little TLC. I already put in a new radiator (terrible internal ATF leak). Now it's on to the few electrical kinks they're known for. I love this truck and I look forward to getting many many miles out of it. I've read a lot of good things about the 6.2's decent mileage and potential longevity.

Anyway, thanks for the awesome forum! Between here and the SS forum, there's plenty of great info.
