I just had to post this.
I had a little crude pull off of my own recently.
Me and my brother in law went to a race together and he has a 2001 chipped, filtered and who knows what else powder stroke automatic and we both have similar trailers and weight. We encountered several hills that stretch anywhere from a half mile to a mile long. When I hit the bottom of the hill at 60mph I would drop my tranny into 5th gear (6spd man.) the tach hit 3000rpm and my stock Duramax would accelerate on up the hill holding at 3000. The chiped powder stroke could not stay with me I slowly pulled away and my blood brother was riding along in the powder stroke and verified this.
To add insult to injury I got 13.2pmg round trip to his 7.8mpg. Needless to say his feelings were hurt and he would not talk about his mods or anything else about trucks.
Chaulk another one up for the Duramax.

Well, if that was a 2001 SuperDuty Powerstroke, it was a 7.3, not the more modern, more powerfull 6.0. Not saying you still wouldn't have won, but the 6.0 blows the doors off the 7.3.
