Default 700r4 TCC lock up problems

I got a rebuilt "built" 700 for my diesel and my wiring was all screwed up, so I just got a solenoid wiring kit that made the tcc lockup when ever it was in overdrive. However, this bogs down my engine alot when it engages at 40mph all the way to about 60mph. Is it not supposed to engage so early or is it something else? I have 3.42 gears, 32 inch tires, and a built turbo 6.2.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

Mine also bogs if I engage it below 55 or so. I have a manual switch on the dash and I flip it on manually when I hit 55. For a better option, B&M has a lockup controller that lets you set the lockup speed - it is all electronic, it does not require vacuum. We have one on our El Camino and it works great.
