Yep, interested in what you did for the radiator and I can see that you moved the turbo down. Any other modifications to make things fit? Obviously the lift on the truck helps some of the fitment height-wise. What transmission do you have behind it?

I've been wanting to put a 6.2 N/A diesel in my 94 Sonoma.
Nice job. Is there any problem with fitment and heat, and did you have to modify the frame, or did you just use a 350 motor mount kit?

Sorry for the long time between post.Ive got about 1500 miles since it got back to the road without any unforeseen problems. Believe it or not I'm using a "high efficiency" 4.3 radiator. This has done well for driving but idling it gets a little warm. When it got over 210 at hampton beach, sitting in dead stopped traffic. I let it sit for ten minutes, got back in and it was still at 210. Took a side street to get moving and the temp dropped immediately. Ive since picked up a taurus sho rad and fan that Ill be running in series in the bed. The only fitment problem that i had over running the 350 that was in it was that i had to move the passenger side engine mount to clear the starter. Here,s some build pics.

From the few pictures, it looks like about the only major change is location of the turbo. Is the purple tube custom or a standard "ricer" type part? And what sort of brackets did you fab to lower the turbo? I'm assuming that the fender was also modified to fit that in beside the engine?

I didn't modify the turbo in any way. That is an old BAE kit for the 6.2. I got it in a salvage yard with manifolds,etc....I cut the pressure tube about 2" at the turbo for hood clearance and yes I did some trimming on the inner fender. Other than that I'm still surprised at how well it fits. I do however have a question for you turbo guys in the know.
I'm only getting about 4 psi boost unless I take it past my rpm comfort zone (no tach yet). I know that I don't have any exhaust or pressure leaks. I assume this was simply a low pressure kit. The only thing I can tell you about the turbo is that its a t4 on center Rotomaster with a A/R .85 compressor housing. My question is what do I need to change to achieve about 8-10 or so psi. Also, motor is otherwise untouched. I haven't even turned up the pump yet. Also, this is a non wastegated turbo.

Do you think there would be any trouble fitting a 6.2 N/A in a non 4x4 second gen Sonoma?

Well, since no one is hazarding a guess, lets get a little more info. What have you got for waste gate control?? Have you got a tack yet? In stock configuration the tack on these run off the alternator, just in case you have been looking for a mechanical tack.

Give up a little more information and there is an abundance of help around here.

i been thinkin of boosting or moddin the engine speed signal runnin the 4l80 to attempt a use for my gasser tach. anybody doing that?

thats alot of lift, you running in deep stuff?

would love a turbo as well. if that unit came off a 6.2 it is likely a low bost unit due to the higher comp ratio...who sells wheels for it?

i had to use my van radiator as well. at first i was using my small block radiator and doing fine with the taurus fan. but, the speed at which it was heating up when i was horsin on it had me a bit concerned...the fan would bring it right down, but what if i was having an electrical issue at some point wheelin?? so i left it to where i can still run the oem type fan in a pinch...nice thing about theranger is it is actually alot easier to put chevy engines in then the s10's....sick world isnt it

awesome truck, hell of a build.
