Default 2009 K3500 SRW is going the distance

Hey all - checking in with an update on the 2009 K3500 SRW that I sold with MRE Boat Transport two years ago this month. New owner Steve Andersen has logged another ~120K towing miles on top of the ~160K that were on the clock at the time of the sale. The truck has also plowed Minnesota snow both winters, spring to fall hauling oversize boats averaging 12-14K# (including trailer) for most of the new miles.

The P00018 low fuel rail pressure has occurred '...a few times the first summer' according to Steve, but has not increased in frequency - in fact he has learned to avoid it with route selection, and moderating loads.

Done in the last two years:

    Power steering lines
    Front wheel bearings
    Brakes
    Shocks

This means that the following parts are still factory original to a truck used for commercial duty towing since new - the first 15K miles hauling a 32' 5th wheel camper one loop around the US for a retired couple.

    Injectors, injector pump
    Turbo
    Alternators (2)
Serpentine belt (...the oversized belt to accommodate dual alternators was ordered and kept onboard by me - its still under the seat waiting for duty!)
    U Joints
    Starter
    Water Pump
    DPF

    Brakes have been done ONCE
Batteries have been done ONCE (AC Delco parts counter replacements)

    Fluid changes:

Mobil 1 Synthetic every 10K miles
    Transmission every 50K miles

On a lesser note, the 2005 Yukon Denali that Steve traded me now has ~150K troublefree miles on the clock. Funny that 6.0L gasser only averages about the same fuel mileage as the Duramax with boat and trailer...

    LIKE A ROCK, BABY!!!

Mark, it is good to hear from you again. The TDP sure is a lot quieter without you talking about your boat hauling adventures.
    Good luck

Welcome back Mark. I'm glad to hear the info on your 2009. I hope my 2006 injectors do the same. 145,000 so far and going strong.

THANKS! I miss some of the more 'spirited' discussions around here...sorta...

Learning a lot about boat diesels. CATS, Cummins, Lehmans, John Deere, Hino, Yanmar, Detroits, MAN, etc. What was learned here at TDP has already helped me be a better boat broker, getting non-diesel buyers more comfortable with oil analysis, spotting obvious fuel related problems with RACORs, recommending best practices when it comes to fluid maintenance, etc.
