Default Transmission Ticking noise on idle

I run a 2011 GMC 2500 HD with 50,000 km. Recently I noticed a ticking noise coming from the front of the trans. The noise frequency is the same as the engine rpm, and appears to be less noisy when loaded in reverse or drive. I am concerned about a crack in the flex plate, has anyone experienced the same tinny ticking noise. Note I haven't noticed any change in performance , nor can I hear it when driving or above idle.

If the noise is somewhat random and sounds like a manual typewriter it's a normal "feature" of these engines.. My 03 did this when new but I don't notice it any more (currently at 109k mi)
