Default 4L80e slipps when only when warm

I just bought a 98 GMC C2500 with 145000 miles, engine works good. It only had 2 glow plugs that worked, I've replaced those and ordered a new PMD. The old one is positioned with the wire connector up, location is behind the bumper so when water runs off of the hood it gets wet. I'm plannning on moving it to a more protected position on the truck.

This just started. when the engine - transmission is cold everything works fine once it gets warm at all 1 - 2 miles it starts slipping and after a couple more miles it won't go at all from a stop. Let it set for 1/2 hour and works ok again .

There are no codes, trans oil level is OK

About a month ago it blew the PRNDL fuse (trans)

This happened about the same time as the PMD that had been moved up under the front bumper got wet, and started surging real bad, once it dried out it was ok.

I've searched the archive but not found anything that seems connected to this problem, Ive ordered an AGS manual for the tranny but it isn't here yet.
