Default Diesel to gas engine swap

I have a 1990 Chevy K2500 with a 6.5 V8 Turbo Diesel in it. I was woundering what kind of motor(s) I could swap out for a gas and also what else I would have to swap for the gas motor. And could I keep the turbo for the gas.

The easiest would probably be a big block such as a 454. But why?? There are many gas trucks out there of the same vintage of yours that are relatively inexpensive.

The 6.5's Turbo won't help you....

It's not a drop in. You need a different torque converter, computer, wiring harness....etc

I've driven 454's while I like the power, I hate having to fill the tank.

85 K-5, 6.2, SM465, Rockwell T221, 1 tons, 36's. More goodies to be installed as time and money allows.
82 K20, 6.2, SM465, NP208, stock except for bed rack, snow plow, and glow plugs are on a toggle switch. It works great for plowing!

    1. Sell that truck to someone that wants it.
    2. Find a truck with a gas engine in it.
    3. Proceed.
