Question Who will be King of The Hill for 2017 3500 Diesels ?

Any thoughts on which one of the Big three will be the best pulling on the hill climb and have the best best fuel economy empty and then towing ?
It should be interesting with the added Horsepower and Torque increases in the new model year.

with everyone approaching 1k torque, its pretty silly these days as semi trucks don't even produce these numbers
Seen and herd the Duramax a full year before they were built!

Semi's don't produce that kind of torque?
Ofcourse they do, we have to pull trailers weighing more then 30tons uphill sometimes.

Even the smallest commercial trucks have at least 1000Nm of torque nowadays and the big boys go up to 3,5times that.
Scania has unveiled the final element in its Euro 6 V8 engine range – the 3,500 Nm and 730 hp Scania V8.

I've always thought that once the stock engine was producing enough hp/tq, the manufacturers should spend more R&D on fuel economy. It's become the "undiscovered country" in the truck market. Back in the late 1970s and early 1980s, GM understood the marketability of fuel economy when they introduced the first 6.2L diesel. Down on power, but with twice the fuel economy of the smogged-up gas V-8s of the day. GM was leading (alone in the market) back then...
