Default Stalling when lifting foot off accelerator

Hi, I have a DB2 mechanical injection pump. Recently the engine has started to sometimes stall when I lift my foot from the accelerator, like when coming to a stop sign. Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this?

    Thanks

Check the lift pump operation and the fuel filter.

I belileve the lift pump and filter are good. Both are fairly new.

I have a fuel pressure guage on the A pillar. It reads the lift pump pressure. I have 5psi with the engine running when the stalling occurs. On hard accelleration the pressure will drop to about 2psi then recovers back to about 4psi when going at a steady speed.

    Thanks for the reply.

If you're reading the pressure after the filter, you'r fine. If not, it's still worth checking. It only takes one bad load of fuel and a couple of minutes to clog.
