    Default lift pump paint

OK men, here's a real high tech question. you'll have to dig deep into your brain, or GM library. Is the factory mech. lift pump (as delivered and installed), painted eng color (red), or just left natural? I'm replacing mine, and the more factory it looks to me, the better I like it. Not a big deal, just don't want to have it keeping me up at nite, tossing and turning, cause it's not correct. (If you saw what my truck looks like right now, you'ld be rolling your eyes even more).

    Howdy
Iwent and checked a buddy of mines truck with the original first year red 6.2. he claims to have never replaced the pump and he owned the truck since it had 40,000 on it. His pump is natural steel color or the cadmium color that was sometimes used.
    Hope this helps...

Yes. The base/mount may be anodized or painted, but normally bare aluminum, The pod will be silver-ish (nickel-zinc) or gold-ish (zinc-cadmium).

Clearcoat isn't OEM. You might lose sleep over that.
