    Default Power steering bleed

    Howdy
My son is replacing the Power Steering pump on his 1984 c3500.
This is the system with a separate reservoir mounted fairly high.
We will be replacing just the pump itself in the housing.
What is the procedure for bleeding the P/S system or is it even needed?
Did a search and couldn't find it.
    Thanks!!!!

    Arrow

It will bleed itself. It helps if you fill the reservoir and turn it by hand before installing the belt and running full speed. Once installed and running, cycle the steering and brakes fully several times.

I did a search a while back in our 2500HD/3500 forum about power steering fluid. I found many links related to flushing the system that could help you with your questions. Some of the input was from DmaxMaverick... Thumbs up!
