Default Isuzu 4BDT1 in early 90's GMC pickup

Has anyone actually done this or know of a link where I can find more info.?

I'm interested in knowing what kind of fuel mileage is possible and also about drivability issues like noise level, vibration, etc.

I guess ease of swap would be an issue too.

Truck is 4x4, 5 spd, 1500 series. Mostly for hauling firewood, fenceposts, etc. and daily driving. No heavy trailering.

    Thanks.

I talked to a guy at a fuel station once who was driving a late 1970's GM pickup - which had a 4-cyl Isuzu diesel conversion. He indicated the truck produced 28-mpg, but I suppose a lot depends on gearing and driving habits.
