    Default Old-New TH400

I found and purchased a new HD TH400 4X4 trans on ebay a few months ago that was stored in a warehouse for thirty years. It's one of nine, new never installed TH400s up for sale. At $450.00 I couldn't resist. Other than the input and output seals, Is there any internal seals that could have dried out from this long term storage? Im contemplating bringing my M1031 back to original spec as im having issues with the second rebuilt 700-R4 i've had in this truck. See my other thread titled- More 700-R4 problems.

The seals are all a synthetic material, they dont "dry out"
As long as the tranny has been stored where it was dry, its as good as new.

The input and out put seals should be fine too. Heat is what kills the seals.

    Good luck with your prize
