Thread: 03 Dmax No power off the line

Question 03 Dmax No power off the line

My Duramax has always been the most aggressive pulling truck I have ever owned. Recently it has fallen on its face, I can hold the brake and apply full throttle and it will not get over 1500 rpm. When I accelerate once I get it up above 2000 it pulls like normal. I was thinking a turbo issue but there is no black smoke that would indicate low boost pressure.

    Any ideas?

What kind of truck is this? C-4500/ 5500? Have you checked/ changed the fuel and air filters lately?

Welcome aboard! Take a minute to fill out your signature block with some truck info.

If no black smoke, I'd also investigate possible exhaust/cat restriction.

What air filter do you have and what is the condition/cleanliness of the MAF sensor?

The fuel filter is a week old, the air filter is a week old. I just pulled the MAF and it had a little bit of foam from my old Amsoil filter I use to run on it burned to the wire, I cleaned up the wire and blew it out with air. It seems to be a little better but not as responsive is before. I am at about 87,000 miles.

What is a good source for a new or better MAF sensor?

    Thanks!

Personally, I'd walk up to the GM parts counter on that one.
