    Default 4l80e ??????

    Hey troops

I am looking for the diameter (using vernier calipers) of the indexing bore on the rear of the 4l80E tranny.

The kid and I decided to go with a 4L80E on the Army truck project to get an OD
Currently the task is to get a "married type" T case of substantial strength to snuggle up to the 4L80.

Problem being, we need a left hand drop on the case and most of the newer LH cases are aluminum and just not all that great strength wise.

Either going with a NP205 OR an NP203 Ford style.

There is a bit of mods to get these two items to get intimate but it's not too tough.

The issue at hand is the slight difference in the indexing bore diameter between a TH400 and the 4L80 as they are reported to be different.

Some info here would be most helpful

    Thanks

Some years ago I replaced a TH400 with a 4L80-E in a GMT-400 (1990s body style) truck. I needed the t-case adapter for the 4L80, but the existing t-case fit perfectly - they share the same input/output shaft size.
