    i kinda figured that.

i want to know if it's the same so i don't have to rewire the controller.

My understanding is you will have to rewire it because the pin location in the fuse box is different.

When i changed from 02 to 03 i took harness and control and transfered to 03. It plugged in OK but big mistake. Pins are different. Check with your hitch people or dealer if you want to lower your pride enough!!!

There is an upfitter bulleting at the GM website that explains what changes to make to your old harness. If you don't make the change, your brakes will apply when you turn on your lights.

    DOOH!

I think the new harness is $25

two of the wires are different on the 01 plug

i didn't rewire the controller, i just pulled the pins and swapped the two wires. as i recall they were the light blue and the brown.

on another note my banks exhaust from the 01 bolted right up to the 05 as did my front mounted hidden hitch.

That's all I did going from my '02 to my '05. The '05 came with the proper plug in the glove box. I'm almost sure the '02 did too.
