    Question ATS modifications

    I visited my father in Denver, Colorado and stopped at ATS Diesel Performance in Arvada and dropped my 07 Duramax LBZ crew cab for modifications. An Aurora 3000 turbo was added with a ATS CP-3 fuel pump, FASS lift pump with twin filters, Waterboy injection, billet flexplate, ATS Extreme transmission, Viskus 5 star torque converter with Co pilot. All these was added with my Bully dog and AFE exhaust. The catylic converter was removed also. There is awesome power and we wanted to test my Bully Dog with Crazy Larry aganist Clint Canon's ATS Hot +2 Xcellerator( 350 hp) but according to the dyno at ATS, the Bully Dog was the winner with about 40-45 RWH more than the Hot + 2 Xcellerator. There were no engine check light up there in Denver when i pushed it hard but transmission did shift hard and funny at times. I was told that it needs to relearn. I did stay up there a few days and drove home at 75 mph nonstop to south Texas which is 1200 miles. I got here the other day and took it out for a drive and pushed it hard and it was on Crazy Larry setting and the check engine light lit up and there was a code which is PO 700 which has something to do with the transmission. A friend who is a mechanic said that he put in a ATS in a Dodge and he had somewhat like code and replace a solenoid in the transmission and the problem went away. But the Bully Dog does not show which code of the PO700 it is and may need to drive it for a few days and if the check engine lights up again, i may need to talk to a friend that has a scanner and check which code it is. A transmission specialist tried it with a snap on scanner it will not show the code at all.
    Does anyone experience this kind of problem with the ATS transmission? If you did ,,,what was the problem and maybe I could check whatever problems are mostly related to whatever is the problem.
    The truck does have nice power and it was dynoed at 560 RWH in Denver but down here at 6000 feet lower than in Denver, it should be a bit more horsepower than at higher altitude. I called ATS and they said to find out which code it is of the PO700, Bully Dog Outlook will not show exactly what it is.
    Any suggestions would be nice, thanks.

    Crazy Larry.... A couple things come to mind... The transmission is still pretty new. There may have been a particle of grit or a sticky solenoid that might work itself out over time. Clear the code, then drive it short of CL for a time to see if it re-appears.

    Sounds innocuous.... for an ATS Extreme. Was there big boost, locked brakes and full pedal in 4WD?

    I do not think there was really big boost, it may be around 35 psi but the max boost should be UP to 42 psi but not guaranteed to be at 42 psi but I was not really paying attention. There was no locked brakes and no 4WD, I launched in 2WD. I do not have a intercooler but do have Waterboy but may need a intercooler in the future. But i am pretty sure that the intercooler is not the problem though. I will just drive it around town and let it shift from
    1st to 5th gear for a while instead of driving it on the freeway to loosen the solenoid a bit or whatever is the culprit is and get it working properly.

    Is it normal when the 5th gear kicks in hard while cruising, is that the lockup converter kicking it? My wife complains when the 5th gear kicks in, haha.
    sometimes the other gears do shift real firmly but adjustable with the Co pilot mounted on the dash.

    I forgot to mention that it felt like it was defueling a little bit but not a cutout in power, somewhat of a hesitation and then takes off again and that is when the check engine light comes on for the transmission.

    That shouldn't be a problem...

    Check the ATF fluid level. This doesn't necessarily apply here, but a low fluid level, a partially plugged filter or a problem with the pickup tube could cause this sort of problem.

    Ease into the power after a few days of driving normally.

    The ATS Extreme I have shifts pretty tamely when driven easy - perhaps a little more firm than stock, but close.
