    Default Uncommanded full throttle

My wife was driving my 6.5td last night. She went to accelerate the engine kept accelerating. She braked against engine managed to stop with the engine running flat out. It stopped when she turned ignition and off. Weather was hot. Has been threatening to do the same to me in the winter wet. When I got there 2 hours later started and ran fine. No stalling issues. Anything come immediately to mind? Has anyone had this experience before?

That is the most rare of the PMD failures.

Starting the engine in this condition will see it rev past red line and the ECM will shut it off.

Glad to hear that no body was hurt or rigs wrecked.

Turning off the key...even in gear (LEAVE IN DRIVE) and coast to the shoulder..

Replace the PMD with a Flight systems PMD mounted on a cooler on the top side of the radiator skid plate...

Use extension cable that will fit the Flight systems unit

If you don't know what resistor is in the PMD plug on the PMD and its on the IP use a #5

The pump was bad on my 98, same symptoms. Tried the PMD first and same results.

Yeah, if the fuel solenoid sticks open you get the same symptoms.
