Smile Firewall/Hood Sound Proofing or No?

So I bought 2 sound blankets from Summit.($100.) 1 for the hood, which currently the existing sound blanket is soaked in oil, and 1 for the engine bay firewall. The hood looks easy enough to replace. However, I tried to conform against the firewsll and the new material keeps tearing and looks bad. Although I could Black duct tape, fasten, and make it work with no problem but it seems that it would restrict the air flow around the engine.

Im thinking of doing the hood and not doing the firewall. Not doing the firewall may be the cooler thing to do.

    Thoughts and advice ?

    Thanks in advance!

Existing Stock 1995 stuff. Carpet etc. Complete engine build, clean and paint engine bay. Thought I would re-insulate/sound the firewall, but not too sure now. The firewall looks good and clean, just no current sound/insulation mat. Debating
