I was at byron dragway on sept.28 and got a great 60ft. but the next pass i bent the right tie rod at the jam nut.
The next week i went to wi. for the regin 3 race and did the same thing on the first pass!
How are you guys able to leave and not have the tires going different directions?
I've got a ccsb 4x4 with a 5 level juice attitude,no defueling,duramaxizer,ats stage 1&2,prop.,nos,E-locker,and i can't use any of it!

With a set of beefed up tierods I'm cutting 1.6-1.7's all the time w/o using the Elocker. Where exactly are yours bending? Are you lowering the torsen bars? How many psi are you launching at?

They are bending in the threads, ball joint side, right at the jam nuts.Bars are all the way down, and i'm not sure about the boost,it's about 1800 to 2000 rpms.Elocker not on.My best time is 13.79@98.91 with box at 120 and prop.on! I'm afraid to add the rest of the stuff if i'm breaking now!

my tie rods aren't beefed up in the threaded area but they withstand 1500 rpm launches spraying a 125 hp shot of nitrous right out of the hole. Maybe the urethane bushings I have in the front a-arms and on the front sway bar do more than just squeak.

what tires/rims are you running?
are you doing anything special to the front suspension at the track?

I tried to strap the front down, but broke the strap.plus i have air bags, and have tried pumping them up to 70lbs.to keep the weight in the front, that didn't help either.

I can cut 1.7 60's with slicks on my 2WD. You can get lower with the 4WD but the breakage does not seem worth it.

I think that I can get a better 60' time once I get the launch technique down and settle on the right air pressure for the slicks.

I am running 13.1's @ 103, no bbq or funny gas.

Outa curiosity.....what powerlevels/times are people seeing breakage durring 4x4 launches?People breaking stuff on the street with lotsa boost hot OJ and 4x4? 265 or 285 tires, nothing real big.

I've done some 1300 or so launches with 90hp juice but am worried about how hard I can play on the street.

Still havent tried a 2wd launch with boost, I'm guessing the tires will go bye bye

Wonder if the dealer will get wise if I start snapping tierods like toothpics? :D

I know you said the T bars were all the way down but it still looks high in the front in the pictures. Also the offset, and wider wheels don't help matters either.

So far I haven't broke anything but my front end is desintegrating rapidly. More and more losse.

I went to the racetrack around 4 times this summer. I must have done at least 50 2000rmp 4 wd lauches with the 90hp juice.

I'm trying to find a source for upgraded components so tell me Mike how or where are you getting your beefed up tie-rods?

I'm also wondering if we beef-up the tie-rods, will that move the point of failure to another, costlier component?

Thanks.

JF.

JF what are you runing in the 1/4 on the 90hp juice? 60'? How much boost at 2grand? You have exhaust?

I'm curious what my reg cab would run. I may go to the 1/4 this sunday but am unsure, I really need to get the plow ready.

Any advice for a noob would be appreciated in case I do run her down the 1320 this weekend. Launch rpm and such or anything else. I dont have a boost guage so i cant go by that. I'm running 265's so my gearing is down a bit more than most. I assume droping the tbars would be pointless at my powerlevel. I should be ok and not worry about screwing up my tierods on a couple of passes?
