Well, I am already pondering getting the Juice, & I don't even have my Duramax yet!

I was just wondering, has anyone had any limp mode problems with the Allison towing in level 2?

Thanks for the feedback! smile.gif

Just got back from a 1200 mile trip across California and Arizona (110 degrees) towing a 6000# load, not huge but it is something. Had the juice i level 2 and had no problems whatsoever. Towed wonderfully, screamed up hills and got 17.89 mpg. What more could you ask for.

Well the juice has been in my truck for over 10,000 miles. Over 3,000 miles are pulling a 12,000 pound RV. Not one code set ever. I use level 2 on the juice in the tow mode. I have done most this pulling in the smokies on I-40 and I-26.

I was passing a few cars pulling my 25' gooseneck and slipped my 5th gear when it shifted into 5th. I looked down and realized I forgot to push in T/H. My was set at #4 in normal and #2 in T/H. I had to pull over and shut it down as it would only to 75 in 4th. Thats it. I restarted and took off in T/H and had to pass again and I slipped it again. It was in T/H this time. My box is an early version as it doesn't have a version # on it. I need to get this one reflashed so I have comfirmation. The way it sounds my box is pretty hot as the new ones seem to be a little more conservative. This was the only time. Without the comfirmation I am only guessing that the settings I put in were set.

I towed a light load today (4800 lbs.), and didn't even bother to shift into the tow/haul mode because it was such a light load. My juice is set at level 4 in the regular mode, and I had no problems pulling a long steep (8%) mountain grade with the cruise set at 75 mph. Of course it wasn't enough of a load to really test the truck either, because for the most part I couldn't even tell it was back there. The max EGT I saw towing in level 4 was 1250 degrees (pre turbo).

No codes, no noticeable tranny slippage with my truck. I use #3 or #4 for towing purposes. Watch those EGT's in those levels when towing though!!!!

literally just drove in from a high-speed 300+ mile pull of a heavy 19', duel axle trailer carrying a '92 Buick Park Avenue...have no ideal as to weight but Juice in tow/haul level 2 preformed preformed flawlessly at speeds of 70+ mph .... over 15 mpg .... no complaints...Jim :D
