Just curious about something. Instead of spending $4-600.00 on a new 4" or 5" exhaust, would it work to put one of those exhaust cutoffs on that would just dump exhaust straight down. A guy would just need something like a 2" or 3" hole on the dump side to aid the stock exhaust system a little. When your through pulling or whatever just close it off and go about your business. I don't know of many drawbacks unless you might scorch wires or smell exhaust. That would keep egt's down wouldn't it?

Similar to the ones on this truck.

Exactly! With one change . . . I think they make them so you can open and close them with a cable. Wouldn't they, placed up close to the manifolds, open up the exhaust and lower egt's without even doing any exhaust work?

Just a thought

My only concern would be that they would not seal and sound like there is a hole in the muffler.

Check here for a Corsa stainless steel marine cutout with electric actuator.

Sounds like we want to come full circle. I had welded pipe nipples with caps on my 57 Chevy. Boy were they noisy. Later! Lone Eagle :D
