I put a Transferflow 45 gallon replacement tank on my truck last week.
I just returned from a trip to Maryland, filled up before leaving home and still have about nine gallon of fuel in the tank, I drove 730 miles. It was sure nice not having to stop for fuel, I averaged 20.3 MPG according to the DIC. The DIC says I used 36.4 gallons, I am going to fill the tank when the DIC says I have used 40 gal.
I was not towing and stayed right around 65 MPH.

I have about 4100 miles on it.

My experience with the DIC is that is reads from 1.0 to 1.5 mpg high. I think my LLY with Allison would get about 19 mpg which is darn good for a big truck. Mine is 4X4 with ladder rack. Let us know.

I have 500 miles on my new Dmax, The Computer says the mpg is 13.8, I figured it out to a little over 15. This has been in town driving with a 32' ladder on the Trac Rack. Dealer was supposed to reprogram the ECM for the 285 tires but the speedo is still of by 3.5 mph at 70.

Most DICs are at least 10% overstated...

I have an 2006 LLY and I am getting in the city between 18.1 and 18.5. Though the DIC computer is calculating 17.6 to 18.0 even. Haven't had a chance to run it on the road yet, I only have 1300 miles so far.

My DIC on my 06 LLY says I am getting 15.2mpg when I am getting hand calc 16.9 and that is pretty much all city to back road driving. Took it out on the highway this weekend and it started to climb to 16.7mpg.... So I am figureing about 18-19+ highway when I do hand calc... Big improvement over my gas 6.0L at 11-13 no matter what I drove..

Kernal,
You will probably have to purchase a programmer to set your ECM for the larger tires. The dealer can only temporarily change it. Unless this has changed since 2004 it will revert back to the stock, default size. That was one of the main reasons I bought the Hypertech.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll swing by the dealer and see if they know anything about it reverting back.

Both DIC in our 04-06 trucks read about 7-9 mpg
but thats pulling the trailers and running from
6:30am-7:00pm most days. thats alot of idleing waiting to get loaded up. If KATRINA gave us anything its alot of cleanup.

thanks guys i think its my first post but im a longtime reader
