I noticed most people are posting their highway long trip mileage. How about the 10 to 20 mile trips like going to work or errands. My last two tanks have been 13.5 mpg. Both covers on and truck plugged in or Espar heater used . Engine is about 165 degrees at start up .

I'm getting just over 16 running around on short trips. 6,000 miles and stock except amsoil air filter. Hoping to see the high teens EVERYONE claims to be getting as it breaks-in.

16 mpg lifetime including all trips, and in town. Normally get 15 in town and around 17.5 on highway trips. Best has been 23 and worst was 13 no towing.

I am getting in the low 15s around town having fun at the stop lights, uncorrected for larger tires. Average of about 2 to 4 stoplights per mile. I have about 2700 miles on truck now. Temps are 30 to 50 degrees utside.

14.5-15.5 MPG on 10 mile drives, to and from work in winter. Blended fuel will run on the low side, whereas straight #2 will run 15.2-15.5 MPG.

My truck sits in a heated garage overnight, and at work it sits plugged in if the temp is under 20 degrees.

Deerhunter7, I drive from Stillwater to New Brighton, 24 miles, hwy 36 to 694. Typical metro traffic. With #2 I would get 19.0. Currently with blended 17.5. I just put 200 miles on driving 0 to 20 mph on dirt trails and still got 15-16. It's either plugged in or in the garage.

ps: How does your Access cover do in the cold weather?

Jelisfc I see you have a manual tranny. That seems to be better for a couple miles per gallon. I drive 12 miles one way and one thing that hurts is the Ally won't shift to OD untill 100 degrees. With engine starting at about 165 degrees it still takes from 5 to 6 miles to temp. The best mileage I have ever seen is 18.5 and that was only once.

Access cover has been no problem so far..

On my last tank I got about 15.5. This was a lot of stop and go Christmas city traffic, a fair amount of idling but not excessive, and when I was on the interstate I was doing 80 to keep from getting creamed. I also tend to have a fairly heavy right foot and I love to hear the turbo whine so that may have some influence on it.

I've been getting 13.5 - 13.9 since the truck was new. Currently have 5300 miles on it. This is all driving to and from work, all rural and 50% is downhill on an Interstate. Only one stoplight at the very end of the trip.

I figure my low milage is from going 65 mph up a 8% grade for several miles (Blue Ridge Mountains) about half way through my morning commute, and then going up the 6% or so grade on the Interstate on the way home. It does downshift to 4th to maintain 65 up the 8% grade.

I hope to at least break 15 mpg once I get some more miles on the truck.

Mileage isnt too too bad:
50% City / 50% Highway (60MPG) = 18.2-18.9MPG
100% City = 16-17.5MPG
100% Highway @ 90 = 18-19MPG

I now have 17,500 miles and the trucks mileage only gets better.

How do you like your Espar heater? I have a Wabasto on mine and it is great, Never own a Diesel without one.

Just hang on till you get some more miles on your trucks , Once I cleared 25k my fuel mileage started going up and so did the power .
Just about every tank is around 17.5 to 18 local stop & go ,(Best was 21 in Fla. Keys when new)
I also got over 11mpg pulling my 03 30'SunnyBrook 5er with cruise set on 65(11.k lbs)
with 1 flat tire on my camper .(Dumbutt)

Bearman I agree I would not have a Diesel with out a engine preheater. The Espar has worked great. Having a warm engine matter where you are is the best thing since sliced bread.. :D
