Does anyone know what the maximum flow rate per hour is for the Duramax at maximum throttle? This would include both the burn rate and fuel return to tank requirements. Been thinking about adding a post OEM fuel filter and also a lift pump to preclude air in fuel filters and/or fuel starvation problems that one might encounter. I have searched the tech manuals, consulted Racor, Bosch, and GM techs, without success. The only lift pump that I have seen on TDP being used is the Stanadyne, which is supposedly rated at 45 GPH.

Install the caterpillar setup and you don't need a lift pump. Been runnin mine for 2000 miles with no problems but 1.5 mpg better fuel econmy...

Install the Racor setup and you don't need a lift pump. Been runnin mine for 1500 miles with no trapped air problems and 1.5 mpg better fuel economy too. :D

BTW, the clean element pressure drop is .05PSI
for the 660R

Nomad56,Those figures are water colum or there are missing decimal points etc. Vacuum pumps will only pull 30 inches of mercury at sea level and these aren't vacuum pumps. Six inches on the pump and .8 on the filter sounds better to me. Later! Lone Eagle ;)

Nomad56, Did you consider installing the Racor left of the A/C compressor? Later! Lone Eagle

Lone Eagle,

I put the filter assembly under the air box because there
was just the right amount of room for it to fit. Also, when
I have to replace the filter, any fuel spillage will drop straight onto
the ground. The Parker hoses make nice clean sweeps from
this location, hence less restriction. It really was pretty
easy to do. In fact I installed the assembly without talking
my tire off.

Nomad56, Where did you purchase the Racor. DIS has had mine on back order for three weeks. Now they tell me they are coming but will be a little more. Later! Lone Eagle :(

Lone Eagle - I purchased a Racor 660R from a local fuel injection service shop. They are a Racor dealer. He told me it would be in a week....it took a little over 2. Might be some sort of shortage due to the increased attention they are getting from TDP. ;) Call Greg L. from lubespecialist.com, I know he sells them.

My Racor unexpectedly showed up to day. What is the ID of the hose? We have a diesel service here in town that should have the hose and fittings. Later! Lone Eagle :D
