After market fuel filters

Have there been much trouble with aftermarket filters? Only parts store in my town is Carquest. My duramax has been starting harder, warm and cold, and I've changed filters several times. Had it at dealership today and they stated it only had 110psi. Filter had less than 500 miles since change. They put new GM filter on and got 160psi. Service tech said GM claims some aftermarket filters have caused problems with the Duramax. Last filter had a number change so I figered it changed to meet the new dual pleated specs.

How difficult is it to check the pressure from the high pressure pump. I can't seem to get the dealership to check the high pressure to see if I have a pump or injector problem.

Racor makes all the fuel filters on the market for the Duramax. Other brands just repackage Racor filters under their own brand name. The dealer is feeding you a line of bull.

Carquest website has WIX as manufacturer of all their filters.

Wix lists a fuel filter with a Wix label, for the Duramax. It's manufactured by Racor.

The wheels are Alcoa 19.5" aluminum mounted using ARROWCRAFT'S 8 TO 10 BOLT ADATPERS (http://www.arrowcraft.com). I bought the wheels and adapters from Arrowcraft. I just checked SOUTHWEST WHEEL (http://www.southwestwheel.com/maxforce.htm) and they are offering various packages using the Arrowcraft adapters and Accuride steel wheels or Alcoa aluminum wheels.

Did my first fuel filter change after 1yr/15K Km. Was a little surprised at the cost! The filter was $75CND & the labour was 1HR @ $85CND plus 15% tax. Next change I will be doing myself. Any ideas where in Ontario I can purchase these fuel filters?

If you are in Manilla, do you ever head over to Peterborough? I have the filters and I will sell them for $40 taxes included or $75 for two. I go up to Lindsay occasionally as well so we should be able to meet somewhere.

Has anybody heard of Fleet Guard. They are owned by Cummins, what I was told. What grade of filters do they manufacture? I would think this would be a benefit since they know how clean fuel needs to be in order to keep their motors running.

Fleetguard makes quality filters but as previously stated A FleetGuard fuel filter for the Duramax would just be a RACOR in a Fleetguard Box. My understanding is that the Duramax filter design is proprietary and only made by RACOR.
