How long do you guys cool down the turbo when pulling? I haven't seen posts where people have fried their turbos but I'd rather not be the first.

Since you have the Attitude, just wait 'till it drops to a tolerable level. Mine drops below 400 degrees almost as soon as I reach the bottom of an off ramp heading for fuel.

I have an EGT guage and as soon as it drops to the blue section (about 400*)I shut it off. It usually takes about 10 seconds or less when I'm driving around town, but on a long trip towing it may take a 30 seconds. Mine cools down pretty fast.

Cooling down the turbo does one thing. Keeps the engine oil from boiling, thereby "coking" (varnishing) the turbine shaft at the bearings (actually bushings). Oil in the turbo boils between 285 and 330, depending on blends and synthetics. 300 on the hot side (before turbo) is much safer than 400 (hence the "turbo timer"), but it's really more of a longevity thing than a "might grenade tomorrow" thing. Good luck...T
