This past weekend I delivered a 8'x7.5'x48' enclosed GN trailer with three smaller trailers inside, total trailer weight 11,200#. Heading from Bristol, IN to Minneapolis, MN with Juice on level 3, I averaged 10.4 mpg over two tanks doing 65-75 mph. On the return trip with the Juice on level 1 I got 19.95 mpg with the cruise @ 75mph in MN,WI,IL and 70mph in IN (this included some heavy traffic & the toll booths around Chicago.) On a side note I got 496 miles out of my 26 gal tank putting 24.86 gallons in it. My low fuel light came on when I slowed down and exited off into the fuel station on 80/90. I was trying to get 500 miles off the 26 gallon tank, that's why I dropped to 70mph in IN.

Fuel Prices w/o permit: I paid $1.34 in IN, $1.49 in WI, $1.45 & $1.39 in MN. I saw fuel prices in the low to mid $1.50's in IL and some parts of WI as well. Here in MI fuel is $1.32-$1.45.

Over Labor Day I delivered a 8'x6.5'x30' GN with a 6'x6.5'x14' behind it, both trailers weighed 9500#. I averaged 12 mpg towing both trailers from Northern IN, to Madison, WI doing 65-75. Then I took the 14' tag along from Madison, WI to Sioux Falls, SD averaging 10.32 mpg doing 70-75 heading west with a good south wind. From SD I went to Kansas City, MO to visit some relatives and I got 16.53 heading into the south wind with the Juice on level 3. From KC MO to St. Louis, MO I got 18.13 mpg heading east with the same south wind with the cruise @ 80 and the Juice on level 1. Then from St. Louis to Elkhart, IN I got 20.33 mpg with the cruise @ 75 with the south wind pushing me (this also included heavy traffic around chicago and some toll booths).

Normally my trailer and tractors weigh 16,000-19,000# (depending on which tractors and how many weights I have.) I normally tow on level 2 and get 9-10mpg going to pulls around Michigan driving 65-75.

My Juice is version 3.5, I've never set any codes or slipped the tranny in the last 14,xxx miles I've driven and towed with the juice. So far I've never seen over 1300 degrees towing in MI or abroad. When I tow I run the cruise but help it along by spooling up the turbo at the bottom of hills. I also maintain whatever speed I am doing up a hill and don't let it fall off more than a couple mph. I also try to keep the Allison from shifting to 4th as much as possible

Micheal, Nice trailers. I like the air box and intake pipe. Is that something you made or bought?

Towed our new trailer loaded for the first time last weekend. 32' Haulmark loaded with 2 Miatas and associated gear for the racetrack. Not yet weighed but probably around 11k. 2 adults and a child on the way there and 3 adults and the child on the way back.

120 miles each way mostly level, 60% 2 lane road 55-60 MPH and the reat on the interstate at about 65-70 MPH.

12.6 MPG both ways.

Love this truck!! Stock except for the Amsoil airfilter.

My 1993 5.7 liter Suburban got 10-12 towing a single 1 car open trailer!!!

Michael Tomac: I agree with Joey, nice trailers and air box. Did you fab the box yourself? If ya did, what did you use? Has it helped in MPG or power? What type of air filter are you using? Thanks.

The air filter housing is from Pacific Performance Engineering, they use it when they install 502's and superchargers on 454's in chevy & gmc pickups. PPE sent a cone shaped K&N air filter (4 5/8" top x 6" bottom x 9" long) with the housing so I used it, but any air filter that with clamp onto a 4" tube will work. I hunted up the rest of the plumbing and hoses myself. It took a little engineering to make everything fit and line up. I also located the inlet so I can take out the pass side headlight and have instant "ram air" at the dragstrip. This setup was on my previous truck a y2k 2500 reg cab long box w/454 & 4L80. I put the intake on the Duramax as soon as I got it so I couldn't tell you what the mileage & power was like before, but the factory air box & resonator didn't impress me much.

One is a 1991 configured as a Solo I/II CSP. The other is a EM Solo II car with a turbo. We really don't compete anymore. We do track day driving events, mainly with PCA since they let me instruct and it cuts my costs. The wife drives the CSP car and has decided she is now good enough to drive the turbo car so she now wants a turbo of her own!! :(
