I am ready to send in my 3.61 to get the improved response I had with the 3.0. This version is very smooth, but I crave the old "kick". Anyone verify that the fun level is back to 10!?

I ran 4.2 back from MT and it worked quite well. I put a 4.3 on for Saturday's trip, but it seemed as though it didn't activate completely. There may have simply been an error in the loading of the program. I have my truck down for alterations, but hopefully I'll get it back together Tuesday PM to see how it goes.

Whenever an '01 sets a code, my kneejerk reaction is DEALER REFLASH as most of these are holdouts and experiencing false trouble codes which are addressed in later calibrations..

motovet.
I tried 4.3 on my 2002 Ca. emmisions. Seemed to work fine. Smoked somewhat though. Put it on customers truck and set a code pulling. His is, a 2001 model, still smokes on his. Code disappeared, and hasn't come back yet. Aaron told me that on the 2001 trucks it will do this, but doesn't leave a code. I haven't been able to check for codes on his truck as he's in Oregon.
I tried 4.2 on my truck and it wouldn't even start. No bent or pushed out pins or anything. It's going back tomorrow. Terry

After I got my Juice back from being upgraded to 4.2 it would set the code like that while towing but it never did it with version 3.2 and I have had the dealer updates. I tried to check it but there wasn't anything stored so I don't worry about it.

Thanks guys for the replies so far.... but I don't hear anything conclusive. I am sure the new version is OK but I don't want to send it off without reason. I am sure there are quite a few 4.3's out there so....

I just received my version 4.3 box yesterday. I originally had version 3.x and it was fast. I sent it in for an update and got 4.0 back. With 4.0 there was no power and the truck stalled so edge sent me a brand new box with 4.2. Installed 4.2 and there was no power increase because of the temperature issue with the 2001 vs. 2002-03 trucks. Sent the box back in for a 4.3 reflash, installed it yesterday, and wow, it is like old times again. Very responsive throttle and it pulls really hard. I have not even tried level 4 yet. Still in level 3 right now and having fun.

Ok now that's the stuff!!... any fishbite or shift wierdness with the added response? That was the only problems I had with 3.0 on my truck.

I don't think i am getting any fishbite, but then again, i wouldn't really know what it feels like. The only shifting issue i have experienced is the Allison learning what to do with all the power. All i can really say is so far so good.

If you had the fishbite you would definitely know it. Feels like it is cutting out or the tranny is slipping...a jerking when under power. The shift issues I had were well after the learning curve. Not all the time, but at times the shifting was goofy.

I just ran mine to town and back with no problems. Not much of a test, but did click off a 14.81 on the way home :D
