Hi All,

Just wanted to give you some information on our first trip with our new 2003 Chevy EC LB D/A. All the information is from the trip computer.

We drove a little over half the trip without towing. At 72 MPH on the interstate (Iowa is still in the dark ages at 65 MPH), the truck averaged about 18 MPG. Around town driving (Chicago), we averaged 16 MPG. There was a 65 mile 2 lane stretch where we set the cruise on 60 MPH. During this stretch, we averaged a very good 23 MPG! All of these numbers are WITH air conditioning.

For the last 600 miles of the trip, we pulled a 3000#, 17

Husker,
Just wait. On my 02 Crew Cab my mileage took a jump after about 15000 miles. Towing 8K with a/c on use to be 11-12 mpg and now is 13-14 mpg and that was over the continental divide on a 1500 mile trip.

Make sure you have the allison tranny oil and filter changed early on and clean off the magnet plug to check and see what is on it.

also a fellow Nebraskan

DMax,

Scottsbluff is just over 14000 but Gering is just across the river at 7500 and many small towns around .
