If I remember our phone conversations correctly, ATS Diesel Performance is already dynoing at 525 and Bully Dog is expecting 800 very soon. Bully Dog wants to unseat the Dodges on the dyno throne.

More later......

Quote from that thread:
"Just so you Powerstroke guys don't get caught with your pants down be carefull of overzealous Duramax owners. We just released our 235 Hp plug and play module for the Duramax. On a Mustang dyno a stock 02 Duramax put down 199 rwhp and 435 with just the module. With exhaust and a AFE stage II intake system the truck put down 485 rwhp."

Whats he talking about when he says 199 rwhp and 435 with just the module? What module? My stocker put down 258 rwhp and 477 lbft with no module. I have a hard time believing a 286hp gain from an intake and exhaust.

conradv ,

Unfortunately you can't get any info off there web site so the boys down in Texas will have to check it out.......
Could very well be a trumped up Super Juice ..... The stock 199 HP makes no sense as the Duramax Allison stock dynos at 245 ......Not to mention any and all Air cleaner mods have proven to do NOTHING for increases in HP on a dyno,as reported here.......I've seen these claims before just not to this magnitude but there are quite a few more mods out, and there is a lot of rewrapping going on, so buyer beware....

I believe 199 is stock HP numbers ....That's kinda why I think it's trumped up a bit...But who knows really till one hits the blacktop.......I think were gonna see a combo of what is all ready released, tranny mods and all put together in a brown plain paper bag and sold "AS IS".......

Some guy "SDmax" will get the low down for us ,I got faith in him ...... ;)

MAC :D

It's threads like this I wish the html thingamajig worked......Up and down side to side with a 17" monitor to read this thread.....Someone cut up that html......

If you check back over there, you will see I inquired about the stock hp figures... He said it was done on a Mustang dyno, which will read low. But then does that mean his 485rwhp figure is also low??

The other thing to keep in mind is that Clint at ATS is using serious drugs (propane and nitrous) along with multiple boxes to get there. I seriously do not forsee much past 400 RW without some serious airflow and drug mods OR 1800

Please correct me if I am wrong. The 4500 model has the "D-Max" in two forms..... It comes in either a 300 HP model or a 210 HP model. I have no Idea why one would get the "detuned" 210....but they make them.

The 210 HP Duramax offered in the 4500 is not the same as our pick up engine. It is an I6 (7.8L, IIRC) Duramax, which has been available as a medium duty engine for several years. Completely different animal. Cheers

I think it's still the 6.6 and not the 7.2. I could not see getting 210hp when 300hp is available.

Here is some informatino from GM on the 210Hp Duramax in the 4500 trucks.

Two variants are offered in the Family II, differentiated strictly by horsepower rating. The first, identical to Duramax's in the Silverado and Sierra, has 300 peak horsepower. The second, known as the ``city engine,

I spoke with them and they are claiming 199 horse gain with the box only and no other mods but if you do exhaust and intake mods the numbers can go up to as much as 485 rwhp. They also weren't so sure that the mod changed the rpm and speed limit after some questioning. Also they said the stock duramax numbers were more like 285 to the ground so that seems a little higher than some other dyno numbers. The only guarantee is that when you get the box it will give you 185 rwhp no matter what.

The larger trucks use a different standard when measuring HP. I believe it is more like a RW number or SAE net whereas ours is raw flywheel.
