What are the odds that a rebuilder could make this mistake. I replaced the pump about 40k ago, ever since I have had poor economy high shift points, and poor power. Are these symptoms that would suggest a 5288 prom trying to run a 5068 pump?? I also have an issue with getting hot when towing in 3rd. I pull my 13k camper in 3rd it gets hot, pull in OD no problems. When i replaced the pump I also got a new set of injectors. TIA for any help

I'm always a little confused by all the numbers, but, IIRC, none of your trucks should have "5288" proms. The 5288 pump was introduced in the 1996 model year. It is also a plug-n-play replacement for the '95 pump but the '94 prom is not compartible with either the '95 or '96 pumps. If you have a '94 prom it must be upgraded for the newer pumps. No one in their right mind would be producing a pump that only works with the '94 prom these days. Ergo, the only mixup that makes sense is installing an updaated pump with a '94 prom that's never been upgraded.

I think...

sorry,
this is the '95. I the pump tag says 5288, I ordered a chip from JK for a 5288. But even with the chip that was in it, it was running the same! Could this be a pMD issue??

The 5288 is compatible with the '95 eprom. I've been running one (the SAME one) since 1996...
