Is our DMax a GM Design?

I heard our DMax engines are a GM design built by Isuzu. Is this correct?

Isuzu Motors provided the basic engineering development for the engine hardware, while GM Powertrain was responsible for calibrating the engine control systems, and vehicle integration.

I'm not the expert here, but here's my understanding.
1. Isuzu builds more diesel than anybody else.
2. Isuzu is 49% owned by GM.
3. The design is a joint effort.
4. The aluminum heads are cast in Japan.
5. The blocks are cast in Germany.
6. The machining is done in the U.S.
7. The assembly is done in Marion Ohio.
8. They're tearing em up all over the USA.
