The thermocouple lead is not the one in question. IMHO, 6' is plenty long and then some. What people are asking about is the Attitude monitor cable.

There is not an extension available at this time, but it is in the works. The Attitude cord will be available as a 9' in the future...

Just got back from the SEMA show in Las Vegas and talked with the folks at Edge. They have a 3' extension which is now available. Also, they said that they are now retrofitting current units to the Attitude.
